A parcel from Berlin

This morning I received a long awaited parcel from small caps in Berlin. I get very excited when I get post especially when it contains lots of letter press goodies...

Some letter pressed tags that I can keep for next year, that is if I can bare to part with them, a hand written thank you card with a very handsome mustache and Christmas card printed with wood and metal type and stars. Lovely letterpress!

I also got some delicious German cookies, which I can't stop eating, and as I'm off to Berlin at the end of January, Sabrina so kindly sent me lots of info for my trip all personalised for me with the best places to visit and eat.  Tausend Dank Sabrina!
You can read all about Sabrina's adventures on her Adana here at small caps.
I'm off for a coffee break with some cookies and to plan my berlin trip :)

Another card swap arrived yesterday from Gina at DOLCE INVITO in Philadelphia. Gina has just purchased an Adana and printed these lovely cards during class on a C&P Pilot using the infamous Cranes Lettra.
Thank you and a Happy New year Gina and and an inky 2010 on the Adana :)
& a very Happy New Year to you all.

Card Swop

The weather has held the post up on the Christmas Card swap but I'm sure they'll all reach their destinations, I received two letterpressed cards from Letterpressed with a Smile, one Karl had a doodled on and another blank one for have a doodle on :) An emergency chair, I needed after all that shopping! Merry Christmas Karl!

My cards ended up a bit of a rush but I found some wonderful recycled banana card in my supplies that reminded me of snow so I did a trifold design with Ho Ho Ho printed with wood letters in silver on the front...

...also had a bit of fun trying to lock up the form for Rudolf, not a good example of how it should be done, but it worked!

in the middle I used an old Christmas greeting block in silver...

Hope everyone has had a very Merry Christmas and may all your dreams come true for 2010!

Christmas Card Swop from the Print Monkey Press

I have had a week from hell with two deadlines this week for my BA, my hard drive packed up and lost some work so I had to do it all again and the paper I ordered next day delivery has been messed up, and will get here too late. Just to top it off my printer packed in, so I've had to quickly go and by another as I've another deadline on Monday! Groan...

But there was a wonderful surprise through the letterbox to cheer me up :)

A lovely letterpress Christmas cards wishing me an Inky Christmas from The Print Monkey Press which are now for sale on his FOLKSY SHOP

A reduction linoprint of a church window which you can read about here

and this wonderful inspiration film about Amos Paul Kennedy Jr who gave up his career at 40ish to become a letterpress printer... I go to bed and dream :)

I don't know where The Print Monkey got it from but THANKYOU! - you'll have to visit his new website THE PRINT MONKEY PRESS and ask him, I recommend it for any letterpress enthusiast. Thank you Ian you really brightened my week :)

CHRISTMAS CARD SWAP

I have been neglecting my blogging as I'm so busy with my BA(Hons) Graphic Design work, lots of deadlines in November and December!! Help! One of my projects involves creating a Zine and I'm doing mine on Letterpress, at last I get to print ;), will post soon about it!

Anyway, since starting my blog I have met lots of new inky friends, you are in my list on the right :) and wonder if any of you fancy doing a Letterpress Christmas Card Swap, will be so nice to get lots of inky cards in the post! Letterpressed with a Smile and Printmonkey are going to join in, anyone else interested? All you need to do is email me your name and address and I'll compile a list to email everyone in the swop on the 1st December and you never know you might even get other letterpressed surprises in the post! Of course I'll blog each card I get, and hopefully everyone can do the same, if you don't want your address sent to everyone and would just like a Christmas Card from me then just let me know!
